Smokey Bear Days

Smokey Bear Days celebrate the discovery of Smokey Bear’s living symbol, found in the Capitan Mountains during 1950. This event encourages awareness of, and appreciation for, Smokey’s wildfire prevention message and will include an unveiling of the New Mexico Wildland Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial.
