A Traveling Exhibit of Historic Smokey Bear Portraits

Replicas of historic portraits by artist Rudolph Wendelin are traveling to National Forests across the country to commemorate Smokey’s contributions to the US Forest Service and wildfire prevention.

The San Juan National Forest is honored to host this traveling exhibit that can be viewed at the local library in Pagosa Springs, Colorado in November.

These historic Smokey Bear portraits will be on displayed starting on Saturday, November 23, 12:00 pm – 5 pm and Monday, November 25, 9:00 am – 2:30 pm. at the Ruby M. Sisson Library in Pagosa Springs. This is a free event and no registration is required.
The Pagosa Ranger District will have a few portraits on display in the lobby during their office hours Monday – Friday from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.
